Privacy

The whole story is short.

Pauz stores everything on your device. We do not run servers that hold your behavior. We cannot see what apps you use or what you do on them, because Apple's Family Controls framework keeps that information sealed inside your iPhone.

What Pauz stores on your device

Identity

  • Your identity statement.
  • The apps you have chosen to shield.

Behavior

  • Tasks you have set, earned-time history, and override reflections.
  • Local insights: turn-back rate, identity-aligned days, evening pickups.

Settings

  • Cooldown lengths, habit triggers, and notification preferences.

All of this lives in the app sandbox on your iPhone. Removing Pauz removes it.

What Pauz sends off your device

App behavior

  • Nothing.

Shielded apps

  • Nothing. We never receive the list.

Identity statement

  • Nothing. It never leaves the device.

What reaches our servers

Push relay

  • An anonymous, opaque user ID and an Apple-issued Live Activity push token.
  • Stored in Redis with a 12-hour expiry, then deleted.

Cooldown timestamps

  • When you start or end a cooldown, the relay receives a start time and an expiry time so it can update the Live Activity timer on your Lock Screen.
  • No app name, no identity statement, no context.

Website

  • Standard Vercel access logs (IP, user agent, page).
  • No third-party analytics, no advertising pixels, no tracking cookies.

The push relay exists only so the Lock Screen timer keeps ticking when the app is closed. If you turn off Live Activity push, nothing reaches our servers at all.

What Apple sees

Subscriptions

  • If you join Pauz Plus, Apple handles billing.
  • We receive a confirmation that you subscribed and your billing country. We never see your card number or your Apple ID.

Family Controls

  • Apple grants Pauz the authorization to shield apps you select.
  • Apple does not share which apps with us, and we do not ask.

Children

Under 13

  • Pauz is not directed at children under 13.
  • Family Controls follows iOS’s standard parental-controls flow.

Contact

Privacy

  • Email deon@oh8digital.co.za with the subject "Privacy".

Deletion

  • Uninstalling Pauz deletes everything stored on your device.
  • To delete a push-relay record before the 12-hour expiry, email us with your anonymous user ID (Settings → About → Diagnostic ID inside the app).
